Charles moved his family to White Co., IL from Smith Co., TN by 1828. He travelled with his brother-in-law, Benjamin Brocket. He worked the farm in Carmi Township that his older brother, Jonathan, had purchased. Jonathan had moved on to Fayette Co. (later Effingham Co., IL).  Charles stayed on in Carmi Township. When the 1830 Census was taken, Charles was living in White Co., IL. When the 1840 Census was taken, Charles was living in White Co., IL. When the 1860 Census was taken, Charles owned personal property valued at $150. Charles was buried in the West Union Cem., White Co., IL.
