| Abigail was most likely born in Kentucky since her parents moved to Kentucky in 1785. However, she could have been born in New Jersey. The 1850 Census recorded her birth as occurring in New Jersey. Abigail and her husband, Daniel Pritchard, moved their family from Henry Co., KY to Indiana in 1823. The trip was made in an ox cart. They crossed the Ohio River where Madison, IN is now located. When they reached the present site of Edinburg, IN, it was a settlement of three or four families. They blazed a road through the heavy timber, came west to Nineveh Township in 1824, and settled on the farm known as the old Durbin farm, about two miles north of Nineveh. |
