Curtis with his brothers followed their father to Jasper county, Ind. He was a farmer, but also engaged in the milling business, owning both saw and grist mills, which was not unusual in those early days. The newness of the country and its many hardships undermined his health and he died at the age of thirty-two years of typhoid fever. |
