There are three possibilities for this Samuel:

One, Samuel came from another state and happened to meet and marry Sarah Gard in Morristown, NJ. There were ten fourth-generation male Parkhursts from George-1 in New England; none seem likely to be the father of this Samuel. The two most likely were named Samuel and they both had sons Samuel accounted for elsewhere. He could have come from England, or the southern colonies.  A Samuel from outside the northern states showing up first in inland Morristown, NJ seems unlikely to me.  No credible record or story of such an event has been found. (See information on son Daniel below).

Two, Samuel could have been the son of an unknown New Jersey Parkhurst.  Perhaps, there was another Parkhurst line in New Jersey. Maybe it is hiding under Parker recordings. It might even be part of an undiscovered branch from George-1's missing son.  This would be a nice discovery waiting for someone.

Three, Samuel could be the son of a known New Jersey Parkhurst.  Samuel-4 already has a son Samuel, so he is out.  Benjamin-4 is said to have had only one son, Benjamin-5 (and seven adult daughters), so he is out.  This leaves John-4 and the question of why our Samuel (and sister Phebe) were not in the published Morristown church records.  But the Morristown church register only started in 1742.  There clearly was a church at Morristown before 1742, since in 1742 the church had 55 members.  Samuel and Phebe were, therefore, most likely the children of John and Mary born and baptized before 1742 in Morristown.

Samuel moved his family about 1771 from Morris Co., NJ.  They stopped in what is now Greene Co., PA, then part of Virginia in 1772. During 1773 they moved to the middle fork of Ten Mile Creek, Washington Co., PA where the area was named "Jersey Delight".  He was taxed with his family in 1781 at Amwell Township, Washington Co., PA.  About 1807 Samuel moved to Austintown, Trumbull Co., OH to be near his son, Jacob.

Samuel was taxed in Austin Twp., Trumbull Co., OH in 1810.
