Just to let you know, I've added Brenda's family to the tree, so you'll be seeing a lot of Hawaiian names in your searches now! Her family came from Waianae, on the leeward side of Oahu, where her Austrian great-grandfather worked as a chemist at a sugar cane company, and was also a band leader who played many different instraments. Her great-grandmother was of Hawaiian and English descent.

I want to say a big "aloha" to anyone trying to trace their Hawaiian roots! Post in this column with questions, queries, or anything to do with Hawaiian genealogy.
