| [joycetrimbell.ged] The following information from newspaper obituary: Kenneth attended schools in Cedar Falls, Iowa and spent three years in the Iowa National Guard Armed Services. He managed a Phillips 66 Station for a while, and was also employed by Diamond Bros. warehouse, Garber Grocery and Wagner Mfg. Co. He was also an auxiliary fireman. In 1941 Kenneth and Marie moved to Long Beach, California. Kenneth retired from McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in 1967, after 25 years of service. In 1972 Kenneth and Marie moved to Lucerne, Lake County, California. Following information is from Marie (Mrs. Kenneth) Trimbell: About 1941 Kenneth and Marie brought his mother, Linnie Trimbell, to California. She lived in her own place for 5 years, with Ken and Marie for 5 years and then in a "care home" for a year. She passed away in 1953 and as she wished, is buried in the "Trimbell" Lot, Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Kenneth worked for Douglas (Boeing-McDonnell) Aircraft as a machinist and tooling engineer. Douglas retained him during WWII as being in a "critical" position. He was "caught" in their big lay-off in 1945 (wars end). Kenneth and Marie owned a small grocery store for a year, working long hours. Fortunately, Kenneth was called back to Douglas in 1946. In 1948 they moved into the home owned by Stella Trimbell - now owned by Jerry (Mrs. Jimmy) Trimbell. In 1955 they moved to Midway, California, which they owned by 17 years. In 1967 diabetes and heart problems forced Kenneth into retirement. Marie kept working for the Orange County Municipal Court until 1973. When Kenneth passed away, Marie sold their property in 1978. She took a trip to Europe and then lived in Santa Anna for 10 years. She moved back to northern California and lives in Santa Rosa, California. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
