| Stephen Noland III had several plantations in the forks of Little River in Fairfield Dist. SC. He disposed of that land and purchased land in original Monroe Co. (later Butts Co. Ga.)He was a Pvt. SC Militia, during the Rev. War. After the death of his wife, he deeded the land to his daughter Mary, who never married. Stephen Noland III is buried at Sweet Home Methodist Church. Stephen Nolen III served in the Revolutionary War with his Brothers James, David, William, Richard, George, and Mordicai. He served 191 days 1781 in Col. Richard Winn's regiment the South Carolina Militia. In 1814 he moved to Monroe County, Georgia he began disposing of his property in 1818 and followed his sons to Butts County, Georgia.After the death of his wife Jan. 20, 1829 Stephen gave one-half of his land to his daughter Mary, he sold the other half of his plantation to his son Richard. In 1842 Stephen moved to Chambers County, Alabama to live with his son Isaac. In his 93rd year of his life he fell to the ground dying suddenly on Oct. 26, 1846 while supervising work being done by slaves on his son Isaac's Plantation. Stephen III is buried at Sweet Home Methodist Church which is six miles Northeast of Lafayette, Chambers County, Alabama.
