| This is "Rene the Younger" (L'Jeune), one of the two progenitors of the Acadian Landry's. The other is also a Rene, "Rene the Elder" (L'Aine) from LaChausee, France. Several generations of Rene the Younger's descendants had spread throughout Acadia, especially in Grande Pre and Pisiquit, by the time of the 1755 Expulsion by the British. It is at this point that some of Rene's descendants came to live in Louisiana. |
