Mary Ann was not recorded in the 1850 Census in John Parkhurst's household. In the 1860 Census she was recorded as a 13 year old. It is possible that she was a daughter of Nancy Williamson and her first husband, Mr. Parr, and that she was adopted by John Parkhurst when he married her mother.
