In the 1870 census of Creek Twp, De Witt Co., IL, Allen, 25, is living with wife Emvaline or Emmaline, 20, and children Rebecca J., 1, and Mary M., 8/12.

In the 1880 census of Creek Twp., DeWitt Co., IL, Allen (though its hard to read his name), 34, is living with Sarah, 30, and children Rebecca, 12, Margaret, 9, and Thomas, 2.  He's a farmer. (pg101)

In the 1900 census of Creek Twp., DeWitt Co., IL, Allen B., 53 (Oct 1846) is living with wife Sarah E., 50 (Jan 1850) and children Laura L., 16 (Jul 1883) and Nellie, 13 (Dec 1886)

In the 1920 census of Creek Twp, DeWitt Co., IL, Allen, 74, is living with wife Sarah G, 70.

Allen was in the 107th Illinois Infantry, Company F in the Civil War.  His pension card does not appear to be on-file with the US Government.

Allen registered as an "old soldier" at the 1898 DeWitt County Fair.  His age was 52.

SPAINHOUR FUNERAL

Last rites for Allen Spainhour, lifetime resident of Dewitt county, who passed away Thursday morning, following a short illness, were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Rev. O. P. Miles of the local Baptist church from the family home in Creek township.  Interment was made in Rose cemetery near Lane.
