From the SSDI, Clarence was born 9-Dec-1880, which makes more sense than the 1879 date in the 1900 census.  His SS# was issued by the Railroad Board.  Clarence died in Sep 1971 in Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO. Another family sheet has his birth as 16 Nov 1879 in Maroa, IL, and his death 30 August 1952 in Audrain, Mexico Co., MO.  His birth may be right, but his death is on record with the state of Illinois. (NOTE: This is anothe Clarence Smallwood) In the 1920 census of Linn, Audrain Co., MO, Clarence, 40, is living with wife Fannie I., 42, and children Ina L., 17, Rulif C., 15, Clarence R., 13, Earnest W., 11, Margaret E., 9, John H., 4 3/12, Harol C., 2 7/12, Robert C., 1 2/12.  The census was taken Jan 5, 1920. In the 1930 census of Linn, Audrain Co., MO, C.L., 50, is living with wife Fannie, 53, and children Louria, 28 (possibly divorced), Rullie, 26 (married), Roy, 24 (Married), Earnest, 21, Margaret, 19, Holy, 14, Harold, 13, Bobby, 11, and Betty, 9
