According to the memory of his wife Sarah, Loren Parkhurst, grandson of Eliza Smallwood, knew and quite liked his "Great Aunt Minnie". Loren and Sarah went to visit the Smallwoods in Kansas sometime around 1954. Sarah remembered a middle-aged man, possible Samuel and Minnie's son, running a wheat farm. They were very nice and hospitable people and made the Parkhurst's very welcome.
CORRECTION: The people they went to visit were Oley and Velma Ostrander. Velma was Sam and Minnie's daughter. |
