Clark apparently grew up with the Parkhurst boys in Kentucky. His son, John Thomas Tucker, married Lucinda Caroline Parkhurst, daughter of Daniel Parkhurst, and is mentioned in Daniel's will. Clark and family must have migrated with David and Daniel Parkhurst, the Prichards, and the Forsythes from Kentucky and Tennessee to Indiana and was living in Nineveh in 1840.
Clark was living in Johnson Co., IN, in the 1840 census.
The 1850 census of Nineveh Twp, Johnson Co., IN, has Clark, 65, living with wife Margaret, 56, son David, 26, daughter Lydia A., 19, and daughter Mariah Jones, 37. Mariah's two children, William C., 7, and Elizabeth, 5, are also living with them. Mariah must have been widowed at this time. Also living with them is Emily Beedles, 9, daughter of Mary Jane. Mary Jane and husband William Beedles must have died. A William Beadles, 15, is living with Rupert Thompson in Franklin Twp. He is possibly some relation, but not a son (he's too old). |
