| Leadstone Smallwood's will was dated 1-20-1755 and probated 2-22-1755. His will mentions daughter Elizabeth Smallwood and grandchildren Charity, Ann, Mary, Henrietta, Ledstone and William Smallwood. Will probated February 22, 1755 Charles County, Maryland Leadstone Smallwood In the Name of God Amen I Leadstone Smallwood of Charles County in the Province of Maryland being Sick and weak in Body but in perfect Senses, doth Constitute and Ordain this my last will and Testament Item I give and Bequeath to my Son Leadstone Smallwood all that Tract of Land whereon Jno Dowell called May Day not before given containing by Estimation Two hundred acres. I give the said Land with the Appurtenances to my Said Son Leadstone Smallwood his Heirs & Assigns for ever also part of a Tract of Land called the Addition to May Day containing Eleven Acres Lying at the Beginning Tree of May Day. Item I give and Bequeath to my son John Smallwood all that Tract or Parcell of Land called Welcome Containing Two hundred Acres of Land. I give the said Land with the Appurtenances to my said Son John Smallwood his Heirs & Assigns for Ever - Item I give and Bequeath to my Son Leadstone Smallwood Two Negroes to wit one Negro Man called Charles and one called John. Item I give and Bequeath unto my son John Smallwood three Negro's to Wit One Negro Woman called Elizabeth One Negro Man called Peter & one Negro Man called Monnicay and my Two Draft Horses also my young Mare. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Susannah Smallwood one Negro Boy called Tom one Cow and Calf & one feather Bed Item I give and Bequeath unto my Son Leadstone Smallwood my young Roan Horse and Riding Saddle Item I give and Bequeath all the remaining part of my Stock of Cattle hogg and Sheep to my said Son John Smallwood and Six flag Chairs and one Large Square Table & one Large Chest and three Large Potts and one Small one and one Pot Rack and two feather Beds & Bedstead. Item I give and Bequeath my Looking Glass to be Equally Divided between Two Sons Leadstone and John Smallwood and also my Hand Mill but my Will and Desire is that it shall not be moved from my Dwelling Plantation as also my fire tongs & my Iron Pestle one of them to have the Tongs & the other the Pestle--And Likewise one of them to have my Gun and the other my Case of Pistles and my Two Large Pictures to be Equally Divided between my Said Two Sons. Item I give and Bequeath unto my son William Smallwood one shilling Sterling and that to be his full part. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Charity Mitchell one shilling Sterling & that to be her full part. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Godfrey one shilling Sterling and that to be her full part. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Henrietta Nowland one Shilling Sterling and that to be her full part. Item I give and Bequeath unto my grand daughter Elizabeth Noland One Shilling Sterling and that to be her full part. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Son Leadstone Smallwood my large Bible & my Book called Josephus & one Iron pot Rack. Item I give and Bequeath all my Tobacco and Corn to my Son John Smallwood and my Two Daughters Susannah & Elizabeth Smallwood for the Support of them and their Negroes. Lastly I appoint Constitute and ordain my son Leadstone Smallwood & my Son John Smallwood to be my hole and Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament as witness my hand and Seal this Twentieth Day of January Anno Domini One thousand seven hundred & Fifty five.
