| Pedro was a master ship's caulker in New Orleans. On May 18, 1785, he was asked to investigate the grounding of the brigantine "Young Joseph." Pedro was paid 841 pesos, 2 reales for the repair of the ship. Pedro petitioned for and was named Captain of the Port of New Orleans on August 11, 1783, named by Spanish Lieutenant General Martin Navarro. Pedro sent the following dispatch to the Spanish Governor of Louisiana: "I, Don Pedro Visoso, master caulker, servicing (L. C. 635) His Majesty in this city, do hearby certify that in complying with instructions received from the government and intendant-general of this province: I went onboard the schooner, "San Luis," accompanied by the captain of the port, Don Josef Hevia, to make a survey and upon duly examining same, I found, in order to put to sea, she requires her decking be overhauled, scuppers, mainwales, and keel and two timbers. I noticed from the inside which were not to my satisfaction and in evidence of the same, I extend the present.
