| In the affidavit of his brother, Joseph P. Smallwood, filed 16-Jul-1906 and sworn 6-Oct-1896, the following is said of Douglas B. Smallwood: "That the said Parmenious Smallwood has another son Douglas B. Smallwood who departed this life intestate prior to the death of his said father being at the time an unmarried man, and leaving him surviving no child or children, nor the descendent of child, and leaving as his sole heirs at law his father and mother, brothers and sisters. That no letters of administration were ever issued by the County Court of Macon County, Illinois or elsewhere upon the estate of said Douglas B. Smallwood, and that all his debts and funeral expenses have long since been paid. "That at the time of his death the said Douglas B. Smallwood was siezed in fee simple of all that part of the Northwest Fractional Quarter of Section 2 Tp. -16-2-lying between the lands of Alonso Lapham and John B. Smallwood and upon the death of said Douglas B. Smallwood the said lands descended to the heirs at law of the said Douglas B. Smallwood in equal proportions." | ||||||||||||||||||||
