| News Virginian Friday, March 19, 2004 Maurice LeRoy Allen G.E. retiree Maurice LeRoy Allen, 85, of 2200 Belvue Road, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville Mr. Allen was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Decatur, Ill., a son of the late Arthur F. and Ella Parkhurst Allen. Maurice retired as an electrical engineer at General Electric having served 36 years. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline Dow Allen of Waynesboro; one son, Maurice Vern Allen and his wife, Linda, of Erie, Pa.; one daughter, Susan Louise Williams and her husband, Kenneth, of Medford, N.J.; four grandchildren, Maurice Wesley Allen of Erie, Pa., Wendy Gedicks of Front Royal, Amy White of Dracut, Mass., and John Williams of Medford; and three great-grandchildren, McKenzie White, Devon White, and Colin White. Following cremation a memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004 at the Westwood Baptist Church by the Rev. Steve Thompson. The family will receive friends immediately follow the service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund at Westwood Baptist Church, 2124 Davis Rd.
