M. N. Landry, Co. A, 3rd Louisiana Infantry, private.  Nana wrote his name as M.N. Landry on the back of Modeste's picture.  He's also listed as such in his marriage to Antoinette Rodriguez.

In the 1880 census of Ascension Par., LA, Nere, 34, is living with wife Antoinette, 20 and children Joseph, 12, Modeste, 8, and Edith, 4/12.

In the 1900 census of Ascension Par., LA, M. N., 56 (Feb 1844) is living with wife Antoinette, 39 (Sept 1860) and daughter Edith, 18 (Feb 1882).  He worked with steamboats.
