In the 1850 Smith County, TN census, Ezekiel was 47, a farmer, and had personal property valuing $800. He lived with his wife Mary, 47.
Ezekiel and Mary were in Illinois in 1831 (Effingham Co. most likely; uncle Jonathan Parkhurst had moved there in 1830) and had their child Nancy.
By 1832, they had moved back to Tennessee.
In 1836, they had moved to Indiana, most likely Nineveh Twp, Johnson Co. Their father David also moved there in 1836 to be with his sons John and Roderick. Ezekiel and Mary had their three youngest children in Indiana.
By 1850, they had returned to Tennessee and lived near Mary's family, brothers David and James Dias. In the 1850 census, James Dias was listed as "insane". |
