George, Jr. was the oldest surviving son of George Parkhurst and Phebe Leete. He came as a boy to Watertown with his father and siblings and remained in Watertown the rest of his life, even when his father returned to England. He settled on what came to be known as the old Parkhurst farm in a part of Watertown that later became part of Waltham. His farm was located on the east side of Beaver Brook and on the north side of the old county road. The house stood a few rods east of the cottage of Thomas Page.
